The NFL finally ruled on Vontaze Burfict’s dirty play from Sunday’s Patriots-Bengals game. New England squashed Cincinnati, 35-17, but only after the Bengals middle linebacker dove helmet-first at tight end Martellus Bennett’s knee and stomped on running back LeGarrette Blount’s left leg following a goal-line carry.
The league did not suspend Burfict for his Week 6 actions, but did fine him $75,000 dollars.
As the Patriots locker room opened to the media mere hours after the decision, ESPN’s Mike Reiss noticed Blount had received medical attention to the leg Burfict stomped.
On the day Vontaze Burfict is fined $75k for stomp of RB LeGarrette Blount, here in locker room Blount has a bandage on lower right leg.

Blount has been a key member of the Patriots offense this season. The The 6-foot, 250-pound bruising power back has shouldered New England’s run game while Dion Lewis awaits return from a torn ACL. Blount has totaled 439 yards this season, seventh in the NFL, and 6 touchdowns, good for second in the league.
New England’s starting running back should have no problems playing in Week 7 at Pittsburgh.
