The New England Patriots are monitoring several key injuries in advance of their game with the visiting Cincinnati Bengals in Tom Brady’s 2016 Gillette Stadium debut on Sunday.
Offensive lineman Shaq Mason returned to practice one day after missing activities for a non-football related reason, but tight end Greg Scruggs joined running back Brandon Bolden and linebacker Jonathan Freeny as inactives on Thursday.
Late Thursday afternoon, a core member of New England’s linebacker corps popped up on the team’s official practice injury report as well.
LB Jamie Collins was added to the team's injury report Thursday. He was limited in practice because of his hip.

Jamie Collins’ injury does not appear to be severe. He played 52 of 63 snaps (83 percent) in the team’s decisive 33-13 victory over the Cleveland Browns last Sunday. Should it prove to impact Collins on Sunday, New England does boast depth at the position.
The emergence of rookie linebacker Elando Roberts has allowed head coach Bill Belichick and defensive coordinator Matt Patricia to limit fellow linebacker Dont’a Hightower as he’s dealt with a bum right knee he injured in the first quarter of the Patriots’ Week 1 victory against the Arizona Cardinals.
