Nate Ebner has missed all of Patriots training camp up to this point, but he had a pretty good excuse.
Ebner has spent the past couple of weeks competing with the United States rugby team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The U.S. fell short of a medal, but Ebner performed well and returned to his full-time job with the Patriots Tuesday.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick doesn’t sound like the type of guy to allow any sort of absences. But Belichick embraced it and even gave the team the night off last week to watch Ebner play.

Now it’s back to business for the fifth-year special teamer. He probably won’t have to worry about being in adequate shape, at least.
