Tom Brady will make his preseason debut Friday night, barring any accidents with scissors.
CSN New England’s Tom Curran reports Brady has made the trip to Charlotte and is expected to play in the team’s third preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. Brady was supposed to play last week against the Chicago Bears, but was forced to miss the game after accidentally cutting his hand with scissors.
Brady’s appearance tonight will probably be the last time we see Brady on the field for a little while. The two-time NFL MVP will serve a four-game suspension for his role in the “Deflategate” saga to begin the season.
Jimmy Garoppolo will start in Brady’s place for the first month of the season. Garoppolo has gone 27 for 39 for 349 yards in New England’s first two preseason appearances. He will likely see plenty of reps with the starters in the annual dress rehearsal against an elite defense.
It’s uncertain when Brady will play, but it looks like the legendary quarterback will actually take the field this weekend.
