The New England Patriots have had to deal with a distraction in the week following their big win over the Pittsburgh Steelers with questions about the deteriorating relationship between coach Bill Belichick and Tom Brady’s controversial trainer Alex Guerrero.
And it’s clear that the Patriots players have been given some coaching on how to duck any questions about the subject this week while speaking with the media.
It was reported on Thursday morning that Guerrero had sideline privileges and access to the facility reduced, though he is still following the team on the road on his own dime. However, when Danny Amendola, another client of Guerrero’s, was asked about the trainer on Thursday he completely sidestepped the question.
“I’m just focused on the Buffalo Bills,” Amendola said when asked a simple question about whether or not he has trained with Guerrero according to Michael Giardi of NBC Sports New England.
Giardi also reported that Patriots players had been told that this would be something they encountered this week. So, despite interest from the national media, don’t expect anybody to say much of anything on the subject.
