The New England Patriots fought tooth and nail to earn a 14-2 record, the no. 1 overall seed and home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. Few opponents will be able to visit Gillette Stadium in the bitter cold and emerge victorious against such a talented team.
But facing their first playoff game, the Patriots aren’t battling the cold themselves.
For the first time in a long time, head coach Bill Belichick is allowing his players to practice inside, via ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
Bill Belichick has Patriots practicing inside Gillette Stadium today. First in-stadium practice since Aug. 1 (5th day of training camp).

The Patriots have continuously practiced outside in sub-freezing temperatures all season.
It’s currently 23 degrees in Boston.
