The New England Patriots celebrated their 27-16 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7 by releasing defensive tackle Anthony Johnson from their 53-man roster on Monday afternoon.
Two days later, Johnson is back with New England, but in a smaller role.

Johnson, 23, was waived after playing 21 snaps in the Patriots win at Heinz Field on Sunday. Johnson finished with 1 solo tackle and an assisted tackle. He appeared in the last four Patriots games as well, totaling 8 tackles.
The Patriots practice squad is back to 10 players, but more tinkering should be on the way as Dion Lewis will reportedly return to practice in Week 8.
