The New England Patriots were without their starting running back on Wednesday.
LeGarrette Blount was not present at practice for the Patriots on Wednesday, via Mike Reiss of ESPN.
Blount was at the team’s facility but did not partake in today’s session.
It’s unclear what caused the downhill runner to miss practice.
New England will release its first injury report of the week later Wednesday and that should further clarify the running back’s status.
Blount rushed for 1,161 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2016. It marked his best regular season as a pro.
Update: The Patriots later announced that Blount missed practice with an illness.
