Wide receiver Bernard Reedy is coming back to New England.
The New England Patriots re-signed Reedy to their practice squad, the team announced on Tuesday.
Reedy signed with the Patriots’ practice squad on Nov. 22 and was elevated to the team’s active roster on Dec. 2. The Patriots later released him on Dec. 13.
The 5-foot-9 receiver wasn’t out of a job for long, as he is set to return to New England. Reedy previously appeared in two games with the Patriots as a returner and totaled 32 yards on four punt returns. New England likes his ability as a return man.
Reedy entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons. He also spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Patriots released defensive lineman Marcus Hardison in a corresponding move. Hardison’s, a 2015 third-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals, has been a practice squad player since he entered the league out of Arizona State.
