New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is one of the most recognizable players in the NFL today. And, on Monday afternoon, the four-time All-Pro put his fame and popularity to good work.
Gronkowski joined Patriots teammate Danny Amendola in changing the life of Justus Parker, an unheralded walk-on safety on the Texas Tech University football team, by informing him he is being put on scholarship.
In a surprise video that was played in front of the entire team, Amendola, who starred at Texas Tech, opened up by thanking Parker for his work and commitment to the program before turning to Gronkowski for the shocking announcement.
As soon as Gronkowski told Parker about the big news, the entire Texas Tech meeting room erupted in celebration.

Whether you love or hate the Patriots and Gronkowski, there is no denying that this is an awesome story. And for Parker, getting rewarded with a scholarship in such a unique way is life-changing and something he will never forget.
