NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is not the most popular person with any fanbase in the league, but he’ll be especially disliked by New England Patriots fans for the duration of his time on top.
That’s due to the league’s suspension of Tom Brady and the way the entire DeflateGate investigation was handled. There now seems to be bad blood between Goodell and the Patriots organization.
When asked earlier this week by Gary Myers of the New York Daily News when he would attend a Patriots home game again, Goodell had no straight answer and stumbled over the question.
“I have no…I don’t know, Gary. I’ll go wherever I need to go,” Goodell said, via CSN New England.
Goodell was not at the 2015 season opener in Foxboro, a game Brady played in while appealing his four-game suspension. Fans in attendance at that game famously chanted — very loudly — “Where is Roger?” while the team was raising its Super Bowl 49 banner.
Smart money is on Goodell not attending a Patriots home game for some time.
