The New England Patriots will welcome the Cincinnati Bengals to Gillette Stadium at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Tom Brady will make his season debut in Foxborough after serving a season-opening, four-game suspension.
Brady’s home debut is “by far the most in-demand regular season NFL game this year,” SeatGeek spokesman Chris Leyden told The Boston Globe.
As of Wednesday evening, Leyden said the average resale price for a single ticket to Sunday’s game was a staggering $540. The outrageous price makes this week’s matchup the most in-demand Patriots home game since SeatGeek began tracking the secondary ticket market in 2010.
The Patriots cite a home sellout streak since 1994, when Brady was a junior in high school. New England has won 6 straight home games against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Brady returned under center for New England in Week 5, completing 28 of 40 passes for 406 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Patriots’ decisive 33-13 road victory against the Cleveland Browns. It was just the eighth time in Brady’s 17-year career he surpassed 400 yards.
