New England Patriots Tom Brady can retire today and have the best claim of any quarterback in NFL history for being the best that ever was. San Francisco 49ers fans will argue Joe Montana and there are certainly other greats, but Brady has done it all and won more than anybody else.
But Brady isn’t going to retire. He’s talked previously about playing well into his 40’s and while that’s still up in the air, he’s definitely coming back next year. Brady went on Sirius XM NFL Radio on Monday and was asked about retirement.
“If it was up to my wife she’d have me retire today,” Brady said. “She told me that last night … I said ‘Too bad babe.'”
Giselle would like Brady to retire and spend the rest of their lives being very rich and happy together. But Brady apparently wants to win a few more Super Bowls to really cement his legacy. He’s getting up there in years, but he didn’t look even remotely slowed down or sluggish this season. More Super Bowls could certainly be in the cards.
