The New York Giants conducted practice Thursday without their best player on offense.
Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was not present during the practice portion open to the media, per NFL Network’s Kimberly Jones. The receiver did not partake in practice for Big Blue on Wednesday, either.
Beckham’s absence during Thursdays session doesn’t mean he didn’t work out at some point, but it’s a clear indication the receiver is still not fully recovered from his hip injury.
The third-year receiver injured his hip during the second quarter in last week’s 27-23 win against the Baltimore Ravens. His injury didn’t impact his performance on the field. Beckham put up his best game of the season with 8 catches for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns.
New York’s decision to hold Beckham out during practice this week is a little concerning, yet should be viewed as precaution. The Giants listed the wideout as questionable this week.
The Giants travel to London to play the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Beckham has 35 catches for 581 yards and has 3 touchdowns this season. His availability will be key for the Giants against a feisty Rams defense coming off a dreadful loss to the Detroit Lions.
