At one time Darrelle Revis was widely regarded as the best cornerback in the NFL.
Sunday, Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green had his way with the New York Jets defensive back. NFL Network’s Adam Rank kept track of the Revis Green matchup.

In total, Green caught 12 passes for 180 yards and a touchdown.
SNY’s Jonas Schwartz tweeted one of Jets head coach Todd Bowles’ comments after the game. He made it clear that the 23-22 loss to the Bengals was a team effort.
“One thing you’ve got to understand about me,” Bowles told Schwartz. “If we lose the game ain’t nobody played well.”

Revis definitely wasn’t the only member of the Jets who didn’t have a great game. Wide receiver Brandon Marshall only caught three passes for 32 yards and no touchdowns.
Running back Matt Forte, playing his first game with the Jets, put up one of his typical stat lines. He carried the ball 22 times for 96 yards and caught five passes for 59 yards.
Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had solid but not spectacular day. He went 19-for-35 for 186 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception.
With the Buffalo Bills losing to the Baltimore Ravens, the seasons of the two teams best equipped to knock the New England Patriots off from atop the AFC East did not get off to a good start.
