The Jets may have taken a big lead in Buffalo, and they may have escaped the injury bug once again. The latest contributor to exit the game was wide receiver Quincy Enunwa, who’s had a productive evening with six receptions for 92 yards.
Fortunately for New York, Enunwa is back.
Initially, Enunwa appeared to have the wind knocked out of him. He wound up returning for one play, but then went right back out and into the locker room. Enunwa was reportedly having trouble breathing according to Tracy Wolfson for CBS Sports.
It’s worth noting Enunwa was on the injury report with a rib injury, although was listed as a full participant in practice for Tuesday and Wednesday. Officially, the Jets called it a rib injury, suggesting he may have aggravated it in a collision.
Enunwa has emerged as a major threat in the Jets passing attack during the early parts of 2016. After finishing last season with 22 catches for 315 yards, the third-year wideout is already halfway to those totals through two games. Without any real threat at tight end, Enunwa has been able to fill a void in New York’s aerial attack.
So far, the Jets offense looked unstoppable even without Enunwa, but quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will take all the firepower he can get.
