The New York Jets got some great news on the injury front Sunday morning.
Linebackers David Harris and Bruce Carter are both active for the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. Harris and Carter were both listed as questionable with shoulder injuries during the week.

The middle of New York’s fearsome front seven is now solidified. Harris hasn’t missed a start for Gang Green since 2008 and Carter is listed as his backup after signing with the Jets this offseason.
It wasn’t all good news for New York, however. The Jets will be without third-round pick Jordan Jenkins, who was expected to start at outside linebacker. Jenkins didn’t practice all week as he dealt with a calf injury, so the news isn’t exactly surprising. Mike Catapano will start in Jenkins’ place. The Port Jefferson, N.Y., native played in three games for the Jets last season.
The Jets defense should be at full strength against a Bengals offense that averaged 26.2 points per game last season.
