When a NFL player manages to jump clear over the line to block a kick, make a tackle or sack a quarterback, it’s always some of the most impressive stuff you can catch on video. The jump itself is impressive, if the player can avoid touching anybody in the process to avoid a penalty.
Timing the jump right would be good, too.
That’s Miami Dolphins cornerback Tony Lippett, who made an excellent jump over the line against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the wild card round of the playoffs on Sunday. Unfortunately, his timing is off and the Dolphins were called for an offsides penalty.
It’s been a rough game for the Dolphins. At the time this occurred, the Steelers led by more than 3 touchdowns and Lippett’s mistake, while nearly game-changing in a big way, ended up being funny more than effective.
