Good news for the Bills, as Sammy Watkins will suit up for an important AFC East clash with the Jets on Thursday night despite the soreness in his surgically repaired foot.
Watkins obviously is the big story, as his health has been checked, monitored and rechecked on all week leading up to this game. As always, however, both teams will be down some key players.
Jets inactives, from the team web site: TE Braedon Bowman, QB Christian Hackenberg, LB Jordan Jenkins, QB Bryce Petty, RB Troymaine Pope, CB Darryl Roberts, T Brandon Shell.
Bills inactives, via Mike Rodak for ESPN.com: S Colt Anderson, K Jordan Gay, OT Cordy Glenn, QB Cardale Jones, C Patrick Lewis, LB Brandon Spikes, RB Jonathan Williams.
For the Jets, rookie linebacker Jordan Jenkins will miss his second straight game. Otherwise, they’re pretty close to full strength as far as starters are concerned.
As for the Bills, the loss of Cordy Glenn will hurt the offensive line, but was expected. Interestingly, Brandon Spikes, a longtime starter for the Patriots but backup in Buffalo, is a healthy scratch.
