He is training in Stamford, Conn., in hopes of returning to the NFL.
Rice was released by the Baltimore Ravens prior to the 2014 season. Video footage from Atlantic City originally showed him pulling his unconscious fiance, now wife, out of an elevator at a hotel. A second video showed him punching her in the face, knocking her unconscious.
Rice was originally suspended for two games, but later suspended indefinitely by the NFL. He appealed that decision and a federal court ruled that he had been suspended twice for the same offense, and also filed a wrongful termination suit with the Ravens. A settlement was reached for $1.588 million according to the Baltimore Sun’s sources.
Rice was reinstated in late November 2014, but no team has signed him.
