Could there be a “Hard Knocks” curse brewing?
Some featured players on the hit football reality series were sent walking on Friday.
The Los Angeles Rams released “Hard Knocks” personality Austin Hill, according to NFL.com. Hill had brief free-agent stints with the Oakland Raiders, New York Jets and New England Patriots before joining the Rams. The 6-foot-3 wide receiver has no career catches. He’s the nephew of Los Angeles-based sportscaster and former NFL player Jim Hill.
Los Angeles also relieved rookie defensive end Ian Seau of his duties. Seau, nephew of Hall of Fame linebacker Junior Seau, was waived by the Rams, according to NFL.com. Seau signed with Los Angeles in May as an undrafted free agent. The 6-foot-3 defensive end out of Nevada was featured on this year’s “Hard Knocks”.
Outside linebacker Tyler Starr is another “Hard Knocks” casualty. Starr was waived by the Atlanta Falcons, per NFL.com. Starr was a seventh-round draft pick by the Falcons in 2014. He has 1 tackle in his career.
None of the players above move the needle, although it is interesting that the three had memorable roles on the HBO sports series.
There could be another football curse on the horizon. Move over Madden.
