Dak Prescott hated to see Carson Wentz go down.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott ‘saddened’ by Carson Wentz’s injury

Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz will always be linked.

The two quarterbacks were part of the same draft class, reside in the NFC East and represent the new wave of promising young NFL quarterbacks.

Even though the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are bitter rivals, Prescott hated to see his peer suffer a season-ending ACL injury in Week 14.

“Just saddened by the news obviously. A great player, a great future ahead of him,” Prescott said, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. “I know the type of person he is, the type of player he is, he’s going to bounce back and he’ll use it to make him a stronger player.”

Prescott enjoyed the better rookie campaign, winning the 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. The Eagles quarterback was having the better Year 2.

Wentz was in the midst of an MVP-caliber season. The Eagles quarterback leads the NFL with 33 touchdown passes and pioneered the team to an NFC best 11-2 record. Philadelphia is forced to move on without their franchise quarterback, Nick Foles will take reins.

Prescott will face the Wentz-less Eagles in Week 17. The Cowboys are 1-2 against the Philadelphia since Prescott arrived, although the last time the teams met in Philly the Cowboys had the NFC East all locked up. When the two clubs meet in Philadelphia again the roles will be reversed. The Eagles are the NFC East champs. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have to win out to keep their slim playoff chances alive.
