The Philadelphia Eagles got a treat when a famous fan, NBA legend Kobe Bryant, spoke to them at a team meeting.
They are in a position that Bryant was in many times during his 20-year career with the Los Angles Lakers, a team with one of the best records in the league with the playoffs fast approaching. They are 10-2, and will likely earn a bye week in the playoffs. Bryant talked to the Eagles about the importance of staying the course while receiving a lot of praise for their success.
“Detail. There will be a lot of hype, a lot of talk, especially going into the postseason,” Bryant said, via Sports Illustrated’s Jenny Vrentas. “You can’t let that affect you.”

While the players surely were thrilled to see Bryant, it was treat for him as well. Bryant was born in Philadelphia, and after spending much of his youth over seas he went to high school the suburb of Ardmore, Pa.
They also received some valuable advice from a 5-time champion who has played on some of the greatest teams in NBA history. The Eagles will be one of the favorites to make the Super Bowl out of the NFC.
Expectations haven’t been this high since the Donovan McNabb years, but Bryant was correct in saying that focus will be the key.
