Former NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham played in a plethora of high-profile contest, but he just witnessed his daughter compete in the biggest competition in the world.
Vashti, Randall’s daughter, finished in a three-way tie for 13th place in the Olympic women’s high jump final on Saturday night with a mark of 1.88 meters.
Spain’s Ruth Beitia won the event at 1.97 meters.
A total of 17 athletes made the women’s high jump final, including three Americans. The 18-year-old recent high school graduate is the second youngest woman on Team USA’s track and field roster.
Vashti finished second place at the U.S. Olympic Trials with a leap of 1.97 meters. Her personal-best jump of 1.99 meters is a U.S. junior and national high school record.
