Bart Scott was not completely sold with Ben Roethlisberger’s knee injury.
He said during halftime of the CBS broadcast that the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback was a “drama king” when it comes to injuries.
Roethlisberger was informed of this and he did not take kindly to Scott’s name calling.
“What did I do to deserve that? All I’ve ever done is keep playing and keep my mouth shut,” Roethlisberger said via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ron Cook. “You just have to shrug that stuff off. But I would tell him to go see John [Norwig] our trainer and check out my medical file. It’s pretty thick. You can’t make that stuff up.”
Roethlisberger also said that Scott hit him harder than anyone in his career, while emphasizing that he returned to the game after the hit.
One of the feathers in Roethlisberger’s cap is his durability despite taking a lot of punishment. Many times during a Steelers game a defender can be seen taking a clear shot at the quarterback.
He will take the shot and either roll with it or complete a pass in the face of it. His toughness has made him a fan favorite in Pittsburgh. It also has won the Steelers two Super Bowls.
