Steelers have major injury questions heading into Monday

The Pittsburgh Steelers are moving towards clinching the AFC North and a win in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night but it looks like they’ll have some major injuries to deal with between now and then.

The Steelers released their official injury report on Saturday and it included some pretty significant injuries to key starters, including superstar wide receiver Antonio Brown.

According to Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Brown is being listed as questionable with a toe injury while safety Mike Mitchell is doubtful with an ankle injury. Further, hopes that starting cornerback Joe Haden could return for Monday Night Football were squashed when Haden was ruled out.

The most concerning injury is that of Brown. He’s carried the Steelers offense at various point throughout the season and he was suddenly limited during the week with his toe injury, so the thought that he could miss the game on Monday would leave the offense critically hampered.

However, the likely absence of Mitchell is also a shot to a young Steelers secondary that has depended upon his experience and veteran leadership in the back end.

The Steelers clinch the division with wins over the Bengals and Baltimore Ravens in the next two weeks, so health is going to be of premium importance.
