The Pittsburgh Steelers made a few tweaks to their practice squad Tuesday afternoon.
The Steelers announced they signed safety Jacob Hagen and offensive tackle Austin Shepherd while releasing running back David Cobb from the practice squad.
Cobb, a former fifth-round pick, joined the Steelers in September. Hagen, a rookie out from Liberty, has been on and off the practice squad throughout the first two months of the season. Shepherd was taken in the seventh round of the 2015 draft by the Minnesota Vikings and dressed in 14 games last season for the Vikings.
The Steelers continue to tweak their injury-plagued roster. Coach Mike Tomlin revealed Tuesday that safety Shamarko Thomas wouldn’t play this weekend and said it was “status quo” with the rest of his injured players.
