One more week until Pittsburgh Steelers fans get to see their top draft pick in action.
Cornerback Artie Burns told Penn Live’s Jacob Klinger, despite rumors to the contrary, he will not play on Friday against the New Orleans Saints.

Burns not only hasn’t played in any preseason games, but he has missed most of training camp with a thigh injury. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette he went through Wednesday’s practice with no problem, so it was expected he would play in preseason game three. “It was a big day for Artie Burns,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told the media after practice. “We got significant work from him.”
Steelers fans have not been completely sold on Burns since the team drafted him out of the University of Miami with the 25th pick.
Burns is definitely an outstanding athlete. He is a world class hurdler, breaking an American record that stood for 38 years. In his final season with the Hurricanes he recorded 36 tackles, six interceptions, and five pass breakups.
