Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell was in the middle of his healthiest season since 2014, until the second quarter of Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Bell had to leave the field during a drive in which the Steelers ended up kicking a field goal to take a 17-7 lead against the Ravens. The NBC Sunday Night Football broadcast showed doctors on the sidelines examining Bell’s knee.
Rookie running back James Conner finished the drive for the Steelers.
Bell is following up a spectacular 2016 season, with an even better 2017. He entered Week 14 as the NFL’s leader in rushing and the only running back in the league with over 1,000 yards rushing.
Update: Le’Veon Bell returned to the field on the next series.
