It’s an unheralded position that’s becoming an endangered species in the NFL. Yet, running back Le’Veon Bell believes fullback Roosevelt Nix deserves some love.
“He doesn’t get enough credit. All the things he does for this football team goes unseen,” Bell said about his backfield mate, via the team’s official website. “Rosie is the guy. He gets nowhere near enough credit.”
The Pittsburgh Steelers possess one of the NFL’s most potent running attacks. Entering Monday night’s game, Bell leads the league with 981 rushing yards. A major reason why is because Nix is paving the way for the patient running back.
Nix is a pure blocking fullback. You won’t find him in the stat column. He doesn’t have a single carry or catch. Nevertheless, Bell and the Steelers know statistics don’t measure Nix’s importance to the team.
