Week 10 could be when the Steelers defense gets an enormous boost.
Outside linebacker Bud Dupree told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler he is targeting a Week 10 return from his core muscle injury. Dupree was placed on injured reserve at the beginning of the season and can be activated very soon.
Each team can bring back one player from injured reserve eight weeks after they were placed on IR. Teams do not have to predetermine who that player will be.
Dupree racked up 26 total tackles and 4 sacks during his rookie season. The No. 22 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft was expected to play an important role as a pass rusher along Pittsburgh’s front seven after being brought along slowly as a rookie.
It looks like Dupree’s return isn’t too far away.
