He may not be starting for the San Francisco 49ers, but quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s notoriety continues to grow.
According to Mike Rosenburg of the San Jose Mercury-News, Kaepernick’s jersey has gone from the 20th-best selling jersey on the team to No. 1. NFL.com reports that his jersey is now the fifth-best seller in the league.

Some people are burning them and some people want them signed, but the nation is buying Kaepernick jerseys more than ever.
Head coach Chip Kelly said yesterday that he will be going with Blaine Gabbert as his Week 1 starter. Come game day at Levi’s Stadium, No. 7 jerseys will be all over the parking lots during pregame tailgating, at makeshift memorabilia stands and on those in line to get inside the stadium.
This Kaepernick story continues to grow. A backup quarterback hasn’t received this much mainstream coverage since Tim Tebow. When Kaepernick started in a Super Bowl three years ago, his jersey was the 20th-best selling jersey on the team.
