The San Francisco 49ers put Jimmy Garoppolo in at quarterback against the Seattle Seahawks.
Starting quarterback C.J. Bethard had to leave the game with an injury. Garoppolo entered the game and threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver Louis Murphy on his first drive. However, he entered the game with just over a minute remaining in the fourth quarter, and the 49ers were down 24-6 to the Seahawks.

Even though the game was out of reach, maybe a brief appearance shows that the 49ers need to see if Garoppolo has what it takes to be their quarterback of the future. They traded for him in early November, and coach Kyle Shanahan has said there is no rush to get Garoppolo onto the field.
It understandable to want Garoppolo to get up to get as comfortable as possible in a new offense, but the 49ers need to see if he truly can be their quarterback of the future. They are 1-9, but have had managed to make some positive strides this season. Now they need to see if they need to spend their high pick in the 2018 NFL Draft on a quarterback.
