Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his pop-star wife, Ciara, are the latest to decide against holding an event in North Carolina due to its new bathroom laws.
Celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss put together their wedding, and in an interview with theknot.com she said the couples’ first choice was to hold their nuptial in North Carolina. However, Wilson and Ciara decided against it due to the state’s new transgender bathroom laws.
They eventually decided to hold their ceremony on July 6 in a castle located in Cheshire, England.
Hopefully for the Seahawks this won’t be the only new responsibility Wilson is ready to accept. With Marshawn Lynch retiring they will be expecting Wilson to pick up where he left off the final five weeks of the 2015 season.
He put up historically good numbers, throwing 19 touchdown passes and no interceptions. The Seahawks are going to need similar production from Wilson if they plan on keeping their title window open with no Lynch and an aging defense.
