This week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals brings back pleasant memories for Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston.
He told Tampa Bay Times reporter Greg Auman that Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians inspired him at football camp in Alabama years ago.
“One thing I remember about Coach Arians is he’s one of the first people that gave me the dream of getting a Super Bowl,” Winston said to Auman. “At the camp he brought us his Pittsburgh Steelers ring and showed all of us his ring, and that was one of the first times when I was just like, ‘man, I want to get me one of those rings. I want a Super Bowl ring.'”

Arians won two Super Bowls with the Steelers. One as the wide receivers coach during the 2005 season and the other as the offensive coordinator during the 2008 season.
He may never say it out loud, but it would have to be a nice moment for Arians to see one of his former campers playing at a high level during an NFL Sunday.
Winston had a marvelous season opener against the Atlanta Falcons.
He went 23-32 for 281 yards, 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. With performances like that Winston could have the Buccaneers competing with the Carolina Panthers for an NFC South championship.
