Two-time New England Patriots defensive captain Rob Ninkovich returned from a four-game suspension on Sunday. Ninkovich tested positive for a banned substance but would have been sidelined anyway due to a torn biceps he sustained in early August.
Ninkovich was itching to get back onto the field in Week 5. He apparently was very busy away from the field while the Patriots jumped out to a 3-1 start.
“I missed it a lot,” Ninkovich told reporters following the Patriots’ 33-13 win over the Cleveland Browns. “I was ready to stop changing diapers and get back to football. My wife put me to work. Just happy to be back.”
Ninkovich had 1 solo tackle and came within inches of a diving interception.
