One Washington starter will be in street clothes in London and others might follow.
Redskins coach Jay Gruden announced Friday that running back Matt Jones will be inactive Sunday versus the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jones missed practice all week with a knee injury. Washington will miss their starting running back in the lineup. In seven games, Jones has rushed for 460 yards, including a 135-yard performance in Week 6.
Rob Kelley will likely start in Jones’ absence. The rookie has displayed power running in between the tackles in limited action. He’s rushed for 103 yards on 17 carries.
Running back Chris Thompson will continue to serve as Washington’s third down back and primary pass catcher out of the backfield.
Josh Norman and Jordan Reed are still in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Norman and Reed are listed as questionable for Sunday’s contest.
